Ghost User requested to merge SC-72/Needleman-Wunsch_PoC into master

I need this merged so that I can make a new branch that has the new OO word structure as well as my own PoC files.

All changes in this branch are in the new folder iAligner_PoC. The rest is an unchanged old copy of the master branch.
